Malaysia 07 - Just the begining
Like every trip it always starts at the same place. In Puteaux, the bag packed, the shower taken, the "au revoir" made and all the things we have to do before going (far) away. We were on Sunday, July the 29th, at 10. I was awake for one hour. Ready for a 15 days trip in the south east asia, Singapore - Malaysia - Singapore.
The day before was pleasant and sunny, to be there with many of my friends at Ro's parent's place and in the fabulous place of Etretat. I like this town so much. Every time I go there I feel so happy and calm to see the sea and this impressive cliff, particularly this day. A perfect way to start my holidays.
After a walk - subway - RER trip I was at the CDG airport at half noon, a few minutes after Sam. Ben and Kro, arriving from Rouen by train, were late but it was ok for the checking. Once we get our ticket we started the most common thing that we do in a airport : waiting.
At 3 pm, the planed take off hour of our plane we were still waiting. But after a while we boarded our A330 for a 10 hours fly. Concerning our company, Srilankan Airlines, my view is mixed. The crew is always present during the fly, offering drink or food on demand. There was many choice of meals that were good. The principal drawback was the quality of our seat. Many of them were broken, as so as our video screen. Too bad.
After a couple of hour flying we were landing in Colombo, economical capital of the Sri Lanka. On the airport no too much to say, unless a information sign “Possession of illegal drugs carries death penalty”, chairs dedicated for the clergy and a surprised total black out.
After a other waiting moment, a second fly with the same plane to Kuala Lumpur with a land, a off & on board and an other take off. Direction Singapore.
After a 24 hour we were (finally) in Changi, International Singapore Airport, probably one of the most beautiful airport of the world. Carpet every where, big plasma screen, cleanliness everywhere. What a delight after such a journey.
We passed the incredible immigration and customs and we were in Singapore.
First meeting, the MRT, the local subway. Incredibly clean and new. With air cond obviously.
After half an hour we were outside, 30° and 80% humidity…
